Our Partnership with Parents
We have high expectations of our students and we actively engage with parents and carers, working together for the benefit of the child, so that they can flourish in all they do. Our parents and carers are key partners in our college community and we value the strong partnerships that are formed.
Home-school agreements are established in Year 7, and revisited as students’ progress through the college, ensuring standards and expectations are embedded. Parents evenings are held once a year for each year group (twice a year for Year 7), allowing parents and students to meet to discuss students’ progress. Parents receive reports throughout the year, tracking their child’s progress, and can also check on attendance, behaviour through the Arbor Parent Portal. Communication with Tutors, Subject Leaders and Progress Leaders can be made by email or through the student planner. Information about college life is provided through our website, letters, newsletters and social media channels. We value parental feedback and regularly send out parent surveys, arrange a parent panel and meet with parents as we are always striving to improve.
Throughout the year we offer a variety of events to help you to support your child and keep you informed about your child's education. These include options evenings, internet safety events, careers and how to support your child through GCSE’s.
There is a fortnightly Parent Prayer Group which supports the school community. In addition, for those who wish to be involved in fundraising and to meet other parents, there is a very active PTA called the Friends of Christ’s College, where you will be most welcome.
Who To Contact:
Christ's College has an excellent relationship with parents. It is important to us that if parents/carers have any concerns about their child's wellbeing or learning that they contact the appropriate member of staff so that the issue can be resolved as quickly as possible.
